Queen Nine suited (spades)
I remember the first time I stepped into the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and made my way over to the No Limit $1-$2 tables. My heart was racing as I got dealt my first hand, but looking over at Sam across the table made me feel a little more comfortable. It was Queen Nine. I was on the big blind, since I just sat down and opted to pay it to play. Anyways, I wasnt raised at all pre-flop.
Flop- Queen, Nine, King.
I had two pair. I threw a five dollar chip out there and I was called immediately by one player.
I threw 5 more out on the turn, and five more out on the river. I was called both times. The guy flipped over his top pair of Kings, and my lousy Queen Nine took it all.
Ever since, I make it a habit to limp in with it if the price to play is worth it. And 90 percent of the time... it works every time.
